Restaurant Review: Dhaba By Claridges, Saket

A colourful & fun place is what I call Dhaba by Claridges! Opened in November 2013 in Saket with all the signature dishes and quality ingredients, this unique dining experience comes straight from The Claridges. A dhaba which is light, fun, crazy, out of the box & lively where people prefer to hang out with friends & family with their liquors & tharras which came in pauva bottles, a complete theka experience!

The menu at Dhaba By Claridges is divided into 3 parts- Tawa, Tandoor & Patila curated by the chef on board Ravi Saxena, the delicacies equaling five star hotels & dishes like Kanastari Baingan, Tiffin Chicken, Balti meat, their unique Dhaba ki Roti or Phirni. Ofcourse don’t miss the Paan station outside and elements like nalka chandeliers, nimbu-mirchi lights, vintage Bollywood posters, truck elements- all rustic & unique interiors lending a more colourful & lively experience to the whole dining charm. Restaurant Review: Mahabelly, Saket

Mahabelly is a fine spacious (and reasonably priced) restaurant in Saket recently opened in March 2015 by two St. Stephen’s graduates, Zachariah Jacob (Lawyer) and Thomas Fenn (Management Consultant) who are from Kottayam in Kerala. There are pictures & scriptures of their elderly grandmothers & forefathers in the restaurant along with a big poster of Kathak dancer with big expressive eyes, with a nice soothing music playing in the background. The seating is mostly on big dark wood comfortable wooden chairs.

Restaurant Review: 3 Pegs Down, Saket

The Texas City de-constructed then constructed again in Clint Eastwood style, wish he would have been here to have a look at the interiors which are so uniquely done. I am talking about the recently opened 3 Pegs Down in Saket- Umang Tewari’s another venture. Be it the cowboy hats, the big iron bell in the pistol world, the pistol shaped lighters, the criminal law books, the wanted posters, the barrel basin in the washrooms, the camel coloured beaded & pinned chairs which hook you for sometime and take you to another world. Even the servers were dressed in cowboy hats and funky leather jackets.

The Green Innovation by Carl’s Jr.

We all love to dig into those yummy burgers filled with tikki, yummy sauces, dips and veggies but then what we realize later is the amount of calories we have consumed. That’s when we also feel guilty and regret about consuming so many calories for a little pleasure. It is so difficult to resist amazing burgers. Even on the day we diet, our tastebuds long for some superb food stuff. What made our life easy, fun and guilt free is a recent invitation that ChicLifeByte got in its mailbox. Yes, we had a little respite when we got to know that Carl’s Jr., the Californian premium burger brand has launched ‘Green Burgers’. This was done keeping in mind the growing demand for healthier options in the burger space and sensitivities of gluten conscious patrons. Initially we thought that the bun will be made of green stuff with a patty but when we reached the restaurant we were in for a pleasant surprise.

Restaurant Review: Boulevard, Saket

Located behind the popular Select Citywalk in Saket, the relaunched “1 Boulevard” now known as “Boulevard” was responsible for changing the music dynamism of Delhi by introducing Sufi Nights which became a rage. It is the brainchild of Priyank Sukhija & Akshay Anand and proffers drinks & food with both flavour & essence coupled with an exquisite ambience and new age global lounge music. Continue Reading

A new chit chat cafe “The Coffee Shop”.

Coffee Lovers- here’s a shout out for you! Newly opened ‘The Coffee Shop’ is a corner shop in the PVR market, Saket. With decent interiors, soothing music, polite, quick and courteous staff, the place for sure is one of the most recommended hang out places in the vicinity. This place is exactly where a coffee lover would love to be.

Economically priced, each sip of the amazing coffee is absolutely worth it! The menu has some good grub options as well. A special mention to the fact that there are some “Super Food” menu items to be tried for all my health conscious buddies. Continue Reading
