Guppy- a contemporary outlet in the heart of the city has a lot to offer other than authentic Japanese cuisine and mesmerizing ambiance.
As you enter the cozy place, you get to take a seat in the open-air seating area that allows you to enjoy the freshness of the weather as well as your hot piping food. Caution: you should take a seat inside if you are allergic to smoke as the open-air seating allows guests to make judicious use of cigars and cigarettes. We preferred to walk in and take a seat in a comfy corner. You get a warm welcomed by the ever-so-sweet staff and also get to see live preparations that the chef is mastering.
Yum Yum Cha created quite a rage when it opened in Saket and this time I visited their recently opened Cyberhub outlet. One look around you notice the outlet is themed after the sea– with elements like paper umbrellas, boats, slippers, fish and all the lovely sea creatures, palm trees and the beach with some beautiful origami paintings- a very neatly & nicely organized place with the outside verandah done with the most colourful blend & usage of origami. It is a place full of beautiful origami, colourful, bright & unique with beautiful caricatures of dimsums & sushis in the menu. I was all geared for the Pan Asian Bistro experience of Yum Yum Cha.
Guppy by ai, the contemporary Japanese bar and kitchen is located at the Lodhi Market, New Delhi. The ambiance of the restaurant is quirky, vibrant and eye catching. Every element has been carefully designed with original custom fabrication by artists and vendors from around India. It has a live sushi counter and a bar overlooking a delightful courtyard. The area also boasts of two specially sculpted metal lion fish lights and Japanese Kokeshi dolls, metal stacked tiffin boxes, vintage cameras and more such Japanese stuff picked from antique shops.
This time when we stepped into PVR Director’s Cut at Ambience Mall, Vasant Kunj, Delhi to catch a movie, our outing did not end only till the movie but continued till the dining destination of PVR Cinemas….No, I am not talking about the regular candy bar but Simply Sushi and Mistral which offer scrumptious multi-cuisine options from Japanese to Indian to Italian to European. We chose to sit alongside the cosy fireplace which added a warm touch to our dining.

Globe Trotting is a passion but when you get to do Globe Trotting for food, its fun! So, after a review of Peru food at Hyatt Regency Delhi, it was time for some authentic Japanese cuisine. The only taste I have had of Japanese cuisine is “Sushi” but when you get to try them at an Authentic Japanese restaurant, the experience is different.
As I entered En- The Japanese Restaurant located in Mehrauli, it made for a perfect dining place in a haveli set up. Beautiful and peaceful arena, bold red interiors, we looked for a space which had good lightning (obviously to get good pics).
