Lifestyle April 9, 2016

One of the most important companion for a trip is the vehicle we drive in…and one which gives great look and great mileage is what I would call an ideal car! Being passionate about 4 wheelers and driven a variety of them already…from luxury to the basic ones….some self-owned, some borrowed from family and friends…This time I had to drive down to Punjab to visit a relative and I picked up Ford Aspire for the trip! The Ford Aspire has a very satisfying design when compared to its closest rivals and the vehicle has been on my hitlist for a while.

A welcoming food journey in a military retired colonel’s house- 38 Barracks

Food April 6, 2016

As they say, there’s no place like home, we entered a colonel’s home for dinner. The owner and promoter, Mr. Ankur Aggarwal personally took us for a home tour (we’re not using the term restaurant here, as the warmth and respect given to the eatery by the owner is of a military fan and respect involved).

38 Barracks is living room and a balcony of a retired colonel from military. Divided into different sections like a house, you’ll find the locker room, the living room, and balcony. They also have a small basement space for private gatherings which can cater about 50 people easily.

All Good Scents workshop

Beauty April 5, 2016

Okay, Let me first start by expressing my love for perfumes! I simply adore perfumes, I try all sorts of perfumes, categorize them by nose or note, and love to talk about them. My excitement knew no bound when I  received the invite to be a part of “Make your own perfume” workshop by Rajiv Sheth of “All Good Scents”.

Before I tell you about All Good Scents, Let me share a memory. Three years back I had been to one of the Perfume stores at the Fashion street in Paris. On the top of many Paris ‘must do’ lists was ‘bring home a French perfume‘. Upon stepping foot in one of the stores in the fashion street, the enchanting atmosphere and olfactory delights swept me off the floor. The store felt like heaven, really! Minutes later, I returned to my senses when I checked the price label! I could buy just two,  thanks to the skyrocketing Euro rates!

Cleartrip: The Genie in the laptop

Travel April 4, 2016

For us travel enthusiasts, it is easy to book flights but where we get stuck is the accommodation that we are choosing. This is what I personally got stuck with while I was planning my trip to Goa and what played genie in the process was Cleartrip. A click on Hotels in Goa is all I had to do and it was not just the hotel names that popped out, it was along with prices, stars, hotel area and rating…isn’t that wonderful? The infinite variety of accommodation from Guest Houses to luxurious hotels was what I wanted. With a brief description and filters, it did make my search easy and hassle free. Gone are the days when we used to call up our friendly travel agents for booking our flights and accommodation for a vacation or work trip…Now everything is a click away.

Food April 3, 2016

Phonebooth Cafe, a one of its kind café-bistro has opened its doors at Hudson Lane in North Delhi. Hudson Lane being a college-goer’s paradise, the café has been designed to lure people of all ages with its unique design.

“There is a certain appeal and charisma that the old-world theme and the street cafes abroad bring with it. It is nostalgic and reminds us of good times spent together. I have always been mesmerised by this and we have tried to reconstruct it here and bring the street inside in our new café,” said MrManik Chawla, co-owner of the café.
