This New Year brought alive new hopes in me and the travel bug in me was getting restless. That’s when I decided that I should explore a new country with a new passport (got it renewed last year). Excited to get the first stamp in the new notebook of my travel stories, the passport, I decided to book my ticket to the country of scenic beauty, beaches and shopping! Now, the big question was how I book my ticket. Parents would still suggest the age-old option of travel agents but I wanted a trip on my own terms and conditions according to my own itinerary keeping it quick and simple and decided on Cleartrip.com!
When it comes to travelling, almost every traveller tends to go overboard when it comes to spending, living a life of luxury even if it is only for a week or two. Skift reported that international travellers spending rose to $1.4 trillion in 2015, with the overall spending in emerging economies such as India growing by nearly 7%. Overspending is indeed a common problem among many holidaymakers and it is an issue that certainly needs to be addressed. But how do you overcome the urge to overspend?
The answer is will power.
What happens to your skin when you travel or when the season changes? It becomes itchy, harsh and rough. When I travelled from Delhi to Thailand, my skin experienced similar ailments. To protect it from sudden season change (Delhi being cold at that moment to Thailand being pleasant), I had Oriflame’s Eco Beauty range to my rescue which is made from natural ingredients like cornflower sunflower, rose chamomile, evening primrose oil, aloevera, lingonberry and sea buckthorn to protect your skin. Launched in January 2017, it aims at protecting and keeping the skin natural and glowing.
We are all used to believing what we see. At times we see things which are difficult to believe!
When I got the revolutionary phone Coolpad Cool 1, I didn’t want to capture only the obvious things but something unobvious. Afterall we can’t waste the great features of the device capturing only the usual or obvious but something different where it’s difficult to believe what we see! So while I was in Thailand to enjoy my vacation full of sightseeing, shopping and adventure activities, I escaped from Bangkok to Pattaya to hop on to Ripley’s Believe it or Not. Though I have experienced the place during my visit to London as well but it’s always fun to revisit the facts and pen them down so that we know what people around the world have been upto!
Let us all take out some time from our daily routine to taste the real street flavours of India be it from Purab, Paschim, Uttar or Dakshin- all regional flavours under one roof in a hygienic environment at The Masala Trail (TMT) by Osama Jalali.
Who doesn’t like to go for a shopping spree? It would be any girl’s dream to spend a day at a premium shopping center like Select CITYWALK amongst the national and international brands it offers. For me, my retail therapy usually ends with food therapy and while we go mad selecting the right dress or the right attire for an upcoming event or occasion, it is important to get the right fuel for your body! And that’s when we head to the superior restaurants here. Select CITYWALK gives us a choice between Confectionary, Cafes and Fine Dining restaurants which I think is great because we always have either a little hunger and do not want something too heavy while at times we are completely done with our shopping hauls and want a nice relaxing comfortable meal at a fine dining restaurant. So, lets see what the place holds for us. The food selection is divided in 3 heads:
Everybody loves his or her cup of favourite tea blend every morning or even after a walk or stressful day to retire, a cup of happiness is what you need. However the blends we take are high on caffeine but I recently attend Teamonk Global Workshop 2017 by Teamonk who are the connoisseurs of specialty teas. Infact they are the only tea venture offering quality pure & natural teas created & grown in harmony of Arunachal, Assam, Nilgiris & Darjeeling. Let the freshest leaves distil in water from the brewer to your favourite tea cup and in your belly to satiate your senses.
Fresc Co located in Janpath, Connaught Place and Ambience Mall, Gurgaon is the perfect place to dine-in for couples & family especially when Valentine’s Day is coming. Whether you are planning to surprise your beloved or your best friend or family, a meal at Fresc Co will ensure you have a perfect time.
Guppy- a contemporary outlet in the heart of the city has a lot to offer other than authentic Japanese cuisine and mesmerizing ambiance.
As you enter the cozy place, you get to take a seat in the open-air seating area that allows you to enjoy the freshness of the weather as well as your hot piping food. Caution: you should take a seat inside if you are allergic to smoke as the open-air seating allows guests to make judicious use of cigars and cigarettes. We preferred to walk in and take a seat in a comfy corner. You get a warm welcomed by the ever-so-sweet staff and also get to see live preparations that the chef is mastering.
After Bangkok, our next destination was Phuket, a rainforested, mountainous island in the Andaman Sea which is known for popular beaches, old shophouses and busy markets. We chose Patong the main resort town to host us which is an area full of life, thanks to the great hotels, nightclubs, bars and discos.
Holiday Inn Resort Phuket, located at the buzzing Patong beach area became our place. As I entered I loved the open lobby concept! Quirky colour elements were added to the couches as well as the celling. The resort well illuminated at the entrance welcomed us whole heartedly. With 29 years of experience in providing genuine Thai Service, Holiday Inn Resort Phuket has built a strong reputation on an Oasis in the heart of bustling Patong. The best part, Patong Beach was only a few seconds away! Not only the Beach but even shopping was also a walk away which include Jungceylon Shopping Mall and other leisure destinations.
