The Westin Gurgaon is one landmark that cannot be missed. I have always been attracted to this luxury hotel for its beautiful ambience and the world cuisines it offers across its diverse dining venues. This time was even more special because I was there to try apna desi Indian khana. Nah Nah I am not talking about Dal Roti or Butter Chicken but the desi Indian khana from South! Yes, The Westin Gurgaon was offering rich delectable cuisines from South India which were a part of the multi-cuisine buffet at Seasonal Tastes though for a limited time period only.
Vikas Khanna is definitely one of the most handsome & down to earth chefs from the ones I have met so far and when he is cooking, giving out his useful tips and joking with the audience, pun intended, you become more a fan watching him cook, laugh & spread more love and happiness. USHA International, one of India’s leading consumer durables company recently hosted a cook out session with the man himself, six times Michelin starred chef and Brand Ambassador for Usha Kitchen appliances, Vikas Khanna at Delhi Golf Club.
A colourful & fun place is what I call Dhaba by Claridges! Opened in November 2013 in Saket with all the signature dishes and quality ingredients, this unique dining experience comes straight from The Claridges. A dhaba which is light, fun, crazy, out of the box & lively where people prefer to hang out with friends & family with their liquors & tharras which came in pauva bottles, a complete theka experience!
The menu at Dhaba By Claridges is divided into 3 parts- Tawa, Tandoor & Patila curated by the chef on board Ravi Saxena, the delicacies equaling five star hotels & dishes like Kanastari Baingan, Tiffin Chicken, Balti meat, their unique Dhaba ki Roti or Phirni. Ofcourse don’t miss the Paan station outside and elements like nalka chandeliers, nimbu-mirchi lights, vintage Bollywood posters, truck elements- all rustic & unique interiors lending a more colourful & lively experience to the whole dining charm.
I am sure you are no alien to the concept of Junkyard Café. Team ChicLifeByte did tell you about the outlets located in Connaught Place and Rajouri Garden. This time its good news for South Delhiites as the latest funk place is now open at Saket. Junkyard Café made out of junk but I would call it funk junk coz its so funky that no one can figure out that its made of junk!
They say “relish the mystical flavors of Asia and delight your senses at EEST with distinct cuisines – Chinese, Japanese and Thai crafted to capture the essence of province of South East Asia”. I completely agree with their description of the restaurant.
Walking to the eatery carved intricately, EEST looks quite impressive and a very calm space for a quiet meal. Extremely bored and done with the loud nightlife around Sector 29 of Gurgaon, I quite liked the peaceful meal here. If one wants to spend an evening with their people talking, I think this is the place. Very light instrumental music in the background and dimly lit space, EEST has its own beauty to attract you.
When you think of Chinese recipes, its always rice, noodles and also Manchurian without a second though but at The China Kitchen in Hyatt Regency Delhi which has recently launched its new menu, you get a lot more. Curated by the Godfather of Chinese cuisine Chef Jack Aw Yong – Executive Chef at Park Hyatt Beijing, the new menu is all set to tickle your taste buds.
Barcelos, one of my favourite restaurants in Delhi has always been on the news for their innovations (remember the “coloured” burgers?). And this time I’ll be reviewing their Kebab Festival which features some scrumptious Portuguese & Mediterranean kebabs.
People eat to live but we live to eat and ChicLifeByte’s main motive is to tell you the best places to eat or rather the best things to eat at each place! So when we were asked to do a food blog post for Coolpad, I thought of exploring different types of places- luxury, premium and street food. Afterall, we all have different tastebuds and requirements!
Delhi Pavilion at WelcomHotel Sheraton New Delhi celebrates its first anniversary with Meeras-E-Dilli
FoodDelhi Pavilion turns 1! What better way to celebrate the day by hosting a food festival by renowned custodian of India’s food heritage and Persian Scholar – Ms. Salma Hussain, fondly known as Salma Apa with her rendition of the Delhi Sultanate cuisine-‘Meeras-E-Dilli. So when I got an interesting looking invitation by WelcomHotel Sheraton New Delhi, I immediately said yes. Afterall, if there is one thing Indians are truly passionate about, it is food, especially the delectable range of local delights!
I have always preferred The Lalit New Delhi for its location. Being in the profession of Public Relations, we have always looked for centrally located options for convenience of the client and the journalist for events, press conferences, meetings etc. This time, it wasn’t about an official call but a fine dining experience at its North Indian restaurant Baluchi!
