When you think of Chinese recipes, its always rice, noodles and also Manchurian without a second though but at The China Kitchen in Hyatt Regency Delhi which has recently launched its new menu, you get a lot more. Curated by the Godfather of Chinese cuisine Chef Jack Aw Yong – Executive Chef at Park Hyatt Beijing, the new menu is all set to tickle your taste buds.
There is a dearth of good Chinese delivery outlets in Delhi. And I am glad I discovered Happy Hakka.
I believe Chinese is the most popular foreign cuisine in India. And honestly it is my favourite comfort food. I can have it anytime. But it’s not possible to go to a fine dine place everyday for those cravings and given the limited delivery options for Chinese in Delhi, we aren’t left with much choice. But I recently got to know about Happy Hakka- a leading Pan Asian QSR known for fresh, healthy & pocket friendly Pan-Asian food and they have recently launched their new menu with dishes like Crispy Wai Wai Salad, Dragon Fire Wings, Emperor’s Hotpot and many more.
My love for Chinese cuisine has taken me to places….from 5 star hotels to restaurants to foodcourts to street food! This time we got the opportunity of having some mouth watering Chinese cuisine sitting at home. Yes, that’s what Wokstar offers us. I am sure you can recall the name. It’s a popular place at Epicuria, Nehru Place and they have also started home delivery!
We went through the elaborate menu on www.wokstar.in which comprised of options from Salads, Soups, Starters, Momos, Asian Kathi Rolls, Rice, Noodles and Mains…the menu also had sections for Chef’s Specials, Meal Combos and Drinks. The menu was well presented and had indications of green and red for vegetarian and non vegetarian respectively. What we specifically liked was the option for additional sauces indicating the level of spices- Hong Kong and Black Pepper indicated by a single chilli, Sichuan and Hunan indicated by double chilli and Wok Chilli and Hot Garlic indicated by triple chilli!
Thai food has great & high nutritional values plus lot of health benefits. Thai herbs are also used to cure & heal certain diseases. For example, garlic is used to reduce blood pressure, shallot eases cold symptoms, chilli stimulates blood circulation, lemongrass relieves digestive disorders & galangal eases gastrointestinal discomfort.
Herbs and spices used in Thai food provide distinct aroma & flavour to certain dishes. It makes the recipe tasty & interesting. Unique fragrance, aroma, taste which when you intake makes you feel good & healthy like the coconut milk which when added in green Thai curry smells and tastes delicious and is also healthy. Some mild, some sweet, some chilli all are combined together to form a great Thai recipe and Big Wong is one such eating joint (delivery as well dine-in) where you can have and taste the best of authentically made delicious & healthy Chinese & Thai cuisine.
Started a chilly winter evening with an authentic Chinese dinner paired with some Chilean Wine, what more can one ask for. With a very warm staff and we chose to sit next to the pool, The China Kitchen at Hyatt Regency, Delhi gave a perfect location for a romantic date type of a dinner (just saying, we were there to EAT). The evening started with beautifully rolled menu with a pretty red ribbon stating the special creation in the menu by Master Chef Dong Long and poured in some Chilean Wine for the lady and Glenfiddich for the gentleman.
We chose to ask the manager to serve whatever was the Chef’s recommendation for us to try. And trust me; a master chef can never go wrong with it. Not even a single thing that was served to us disappointed us in any way, neither the presentation nor not the taste. Everything was just perfect.
