I am sure you are no alien to the concept of Junkyard Café. Team ChicLifeByte did tell you about the outlets located in Connaught Place and Rajouri Garden. This time its good news for South Delhiites as the latest funk place is now open at Saket. Junkyard Café made out of junk but I would call it funk junk coz its so funky that no one can figure out that its made of junk!
In a small market of Sector 22, Gurgaon, climbing up a flight of stairs we enter this small and cozy eatery of the most preferred American comfort food, Pizza, CRUSTY GOURMET PIZZA & MORE. Standing by their name, they do have a lot to offer. Around 30 people seating capacity, the outlet has indigo and wood combination interiors with a visible kitchen and a small cornered counter area. One entire wall of the restaurant has a beautifully hand-done art piece of the Roman Colosseum.
The funky and handsome looking owner and promoter of the place, Rohit Narang, prefer attending his customers personally and suggesting them what to order, understanding their taste buds in a quick 5 minute conversation. Quite a well travelled man, he has tried putting his experiences and knowledge of taste palates across his journeys in his menu, and the chef supports him in his endeavors. Rohit very proudly says “we didn’t invent pizza, we just set out to perfect it” and stands by his words on that. I haven’t seen such a variety in a single menu elsewhere.

Bored of the usual places in Delhi? Looking for a cool new place to eat and drink? So head to the chic new place in town called Butler House. Tucked away in the midst of bustling Punjabi Bagh, Team ChicLifeByte made its stop recently at this swanky new place deriving its inspiration from Irish Bar which is sure to take Delhi’s culinary ride to another level.
Inspired from the Irish Bar, Butler House has many USP’s. From great food & drink, powerful bar, and even a double decker terrace. We made ourselves comfortable on one of the benches. Looking high at the ceiling made us read the wonderful quotes. We were greeted by Chef Manish, a product of IHM, Pusa who has been a part of the F&B Industry for the last 12 yrs experimenting with stand alone restaurants after a stable stint at different 5 star hotels like Taj Mann Singh (started his career from there), ITC Maurya and Hotel Aman (Now called The Lodhi).
The Kids Menu at California Pizza Kitchen is drafted intelligently keeping in mind key factors such as health, nutrition, taste, choice and flavour catering to kids of all ages. I felt really happy that California Pizza Kitchen invited me with my son Siddhant for tasting of Kids Menu.
A table was specially booked for my son, wherein he experienced a special feeling of care and warmth. California Pizza Kitchen’s interiors were done in an earthy and artistic manner. The walls had a finish of raw brickwork with California Paintings all over. The Kids Menu was presented before Siddhant and now was the time to make his choices.
Jamie’s Pizzeria, the UK based international food chain makes it way to India with its first outlet in Ambience Mall, Gurgaon. For all pizza lovers, its a must stopover for the variety of pizzas which are all beautifully & lovingly made with the best ingredients for the Oxford & Cambridge generation.
We were invited for a media launch of Jamie’s Pizzeria in Gurgaon recently to taste some of Jamie’s food. The menu is a blend of traditional best-selling Italian dishes and some more contemporary dishes with a Jamie and Gennaro twist. Rustic, simple dishes made from the best seasonal ingredients drive menu development. The ambience is very warm & laid back with blackboards, pictures & sketches, big lamps and chairs. It was very interesting and lovely to look at the open kitchen where pizzas were prepared live, displays of hanging vegetables and planks in the restaurant.
PizzaExpress, world’s leading casual dining & consumer brand has launched a new & refreshing menu to celebrate its 50 year journey at a warm soiree held at their outlet in Ambience Mall, Gurgaon.
Kids Pizza Party was organised by Pizza Express at Ambience Mall, Gurgaon for a unique & exciting kids pizza making experience.
Pizza Express was founded in 1965 by Peter Boizot & specializes in those conventional Italian flavours. As I walked in, I just fell in love with the ambience created with red & copper lamps hanging beautifully from the ceiling. It builds up the interiors of every restaurant in its unique manner. In Vasant Kunj, Pizzaexpress has a theme of pottery and in Gurgaon it has an open ceiling look. The restaurant is very tastefully done with perfect choice of colours and light. It has about 400 outlets across United Kingdom and overseas in Europe, Pakistan, Hong Kong, India and the Middle East. The concept on which Pizza Express operates is Transparency in form of an OPEN KITCHEN. Their main aim is trust build up & satisfaction of customers. With an open kitchen customers can be sure of hygiene and process of cooking.
This was my second visit to Sbarro (Check Askme.com for the location). Working hard is their main aim & delivering quality service to consumers who consume their loverly & tasty food. I was very well tempted again to try their food because it looked delicious from the glass & yellow lights falling on each food item.
I took a table on the first floor and sat where the light was perfect for the food to look tempting & delicious and break & melt in my hands & mouth simultaneously. I ordered Spicy Paneer Pizza which was Desi paneer tikka on New York style cheese pizza. The crust was fine & crisp that you love for & fall in every bite.
Today was the most fun I had out of all the days of my life as I set out on a binge trip to my favourite pizza place, Sbarro. The thought of pizza sets my mind, tongue & heart on a different algorithm – my mind reminds me of all the calories, my tongue waters at the thought of pizza and my heart craves for more.
