ChicLifeByte told you about the wonderful stay and hospitality of Ranjit’s SVAASA: A Heritage Boutique Spa Haveli at Amritsar. The ancestral property was built 200 years ago by Ratan Chand Mehra, a prominent person of his time. He had contributed to the society by opening up blind schools, gaushala, a family mandir as well as a hospital for TB, all of which are running till date. Ratan Chand Mehra was a recipient of Order of the British Empire (OBE) title and this house was actually a guesthouse for the Britishers. Retaining the original heritage, the place was refurbished. However, special things were retained which include 18 inch thick walls, there is mud inside the ceiling which helps in insulation, bricks are nanakshati (special bricks packed with mud, no cement is used in walls).

We travel not to escape life, but for life not to escape us.
A travel enthusiast like me would jump with joy even on mention of a weekend getaway! So recently when I was asked for a weekend escapade to a luxury resort at Jaipur, I could not resist!
Heiwa Heaven, a name which stands for peace and paradise, and that’s what I was promised for one of the weekend getaways! So without much ado, I packed my stuff on a Friday night and retired for the night to start the exciting ride on a fresh Saturday morning. This time I also had the perfect companion with me! My Coolpad Mega 2.5D which wasn’t only reliable on a long travel for its long battery life but even had a great camera for selfies and other photos. Remember, Team ChicLifeByte introduced the device to its subscribers some time back. In case you missed reading the post, you can read it here!
A Thursday evening instead of heading back home, I thought of pampering myself! And what better way to pamper myself than nature’s therapy at Kairali Spa. So I took the road to Mehrauli.
As I entered, I felt captivated by the red and white brick wall colour theme designed by a designer from Kerala. I was suggested a full body massage named Abhyangam Therapy. This is a distinct relaxing and detoxifying therapy where herbal oil is massaged all over the body using a special technique applied. The person undergoing the massage is made to lie down and the massage is continued in a synchronized manner from head to toe. These massage technique helps to sooth the muscles, increase the vigor, open up the tissue networks and rejuvenate all the senses. Abhyangam has been found very effective for improving eyesight, longevity, circulation and mental alertness this also helps to induce peaceful sleep. It is the best massage to delay ageing and is a preventive massage for good health.
The beauty and wellness industry has always interested and inspired me in some way or the other be it a facial, massage, manicure, pedicures or simple threadwork so it was a day when I entered this amazing spa called VLCC day spa. One look at the spa and I forgot all the heat and the trauma of the day as I felt good and relaxed and wished to stay there and get all the services and benefits within the warm confinements of the spa. The ambience of the spa was very warm, earthy, peaceful & serene with all the diyas lighted in every corner be it the Buddha statue, the interiors in chocolate and caramel colours all so aesthetically done, the footprints on the walls, the lotus drawing, the pictures which reminded me of some ancient ayurveda rituals like the panchkarma and shirodhara all for relaxation of the body, mind and soul. It was a divine feeling; the enchanting bliss that u want to pamper, relax and get indulged in the sin and temptation of getting clear skin, hands & feet.
